recording data on dvd

How do you go about recording data to a dvd?
I am using nero, it reconises it's a dvd recorder but when i try to put data on, it does not go above 700meg.

If you have Nero 6, there should be a "Smart Start" icon on your desktop. Double-click that and make sure you click the "DVD Tab" at the top right. If you highlight the "Data" icon (the 2nd one) in the main row of 6 icons, 4 more choices will drop down. Click the "Make Data Disc" icon and that should do it.

Thankyou so much for the reply, i can now see 4.7 gig, i double clicked the dvd, then highlighted the data, but only one icon make a data disk came not 4 choices.
