DVD burning and backup

Is it possible to play a dvd in one dvd player and record it at the same time in a dvd burner?
I have both installed on my computer.

I think you would have to have a lot of processor power. A fast dual processor would be ideal for that type of scenario.

Since you can duplicate the ENTIRE DVD (including extras and menus, if you wish) in a LOT less time than it takes to play it, why would you want to do both at the same time?
