sound on my downloads

hey gang I'm very new to both this board and the world of burning DVD's. Can someone please help me with my problem. I have the latest version of DVD Shrink and the lastest of Nero Smart.
If I copy and older DVD and burn it my sound is fine. If I try to copy a newer DVD (example Master and Commander) Picture is there but no sound. Last week I tried to burn Cheaper by the Dozen. It plays on my computer but not on my DVD player in my stereo.
These are my personal DVD's that I am trying to copy for my daughter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am somewhat computer savy but still a bit challenged on the terms and acronyms.

You've probably either DE-selected an audiostream or are trying to play a DTS audiostream on equipment that can't handle DTS.

In either case, with your standalone DVD player, simply use the remote control to select a different audiostream (The button is usually lablelled either "Audio" or "language")...
