Hi I'm new to this forum and dvd burning, I brought a lite-on SOHW-812s burner and I'm haveing trubble getting it to read a dvd, I keep on getting an error message saying { Disk is not accessible the request could not be performed becouse of an I/O device error} every now and again if I eject it and try again the drive will read the dvd, but most times I get the error message, I'm running a P4- 2.4g with 512 meg ram, 80g hdd and windows xp-pro with SP1, I have the burner set as a master and it's the last drive on the cabel but it's only a ATA 66 type cabel, would this be the problem.

the cable should be ok
what is also connected to the cable and is DMA enabled? -
I had a 52x cd rom as a slave and the dvd burner as secondary master, but I found an ATA100 cabel laying around and decided to put the 52xcd rom on the same cabel as the HDD and leave the DVD burner by its self as a secondary master and it seem's to be working ok, so problem solved, it seems the dvd didn't like haveing the 52x cd rom on the same cabel, I had a dvd reader and a CDRW on the same cabel before I brought the DVD burner and had no problems, anyway thank's.Comment
