    Youch any help appreciated

Using a sony DWU14A and 1x princos with nero 6.0.0.23/Dvd shrink, works perfectly. Bought 4x princos by accident and they are skippy at best. I have had trouble finding a way to slow down the burning speed of the drive to 1x. I can buy 1x princos but if they stop making them then im ---t outta luck. The properties of the drive list the cdr burning speed and not the dvdr burning speed and cannot find a way to do it in properties of nero or dvd shrink. Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated. Thanks - slim

Princo burnable DVD media have a terrible reputation. I'd strongly suggest you try a better brand, such as Ritek...

(By the way, you should be able to change the burn speed from within NERO)

      yes but where

i have no problem with princo's burned at 1x, they are cheap and have the white top as opposed to that cheap flaky silver stuff. Where exactly in the nero options can i put the burning speed at 1x by default?? My problem is I havent been able to locate the option in the preferences or anywhere else to change the default speed so my burner burns at whatever the max rated speed for the media is.

The option to change your burn speed is available when you click the BURN button. The Burn tab should be on top and you will not only see the option for changing speeds but for choosing your recorder as well.
