I've ordered a DVD player that can play divX files and the like, and although I know I'll be able to burn the video files to CD-Rs and play them off them, was wondering if I'll be able to burn files onto DVD-Rs in the same way?
Say if I have a load of .avi files, instead of spreading them out onto 5 or 6 CD-Rs, would they still be recognised by the player if I burnt them as data onto a DVD-R, or are DVD-Rs only recognised by players for actual DVD-configured video?
Sorry if that's a bit jarbled, by the way If anyone knows about divX DVD players and can set me straight, thank you! (it'll help to know whether to buy a few packs of CD-Rs or stick to the blank DVDs...)
