Ok I read the last topic about this, but im still confused. So I use TMGPenc to make it into mpeg 2...then what?? And is it normal for it take hours to change fomr .avi to mpeg2?

do you want to transform an avi file into dvd format?!
If so, you can use nero express in nero 6 it's easy to use and it will change the format straight to dvd without going through mpeg 2. It works 85% of the time. If the quality of the file is good it will definetly works!
Otherwise you can use a programm called "cucusoft" which is also easy to use but you would need to have "ifoedit" after to transform the file into dvd format.
the process do take some time unfortunetly! -
