is it possible to turn a mucic dvd into and audio cd

It is possible and many ways to do it.

You have to extract the audio from the DVD. This can then be converted into WAV's.

Then just load the WAV's into something like Nero and burn a audio cd.

You will be restricted to 74 or 80 minutes per CD. If the WAV is longer it will need to be split.

I use DVD Decrypter to rip just the audio and then use AC3 encoder to convert to WAV's.

The easiest way is to use a program called "DVD Audio Ripper". It will allow you to save the entire DVD or specific chapters as Wav or mp3 file(s).
