waiting times

I was just wondering how long would it take on an average time to rescue a dvd, on a comp, thats a 1GHz or lower, because waiting for so long is really getting boring and i would really appreciate it if there was a program that could do this in only like an hour to an hour & a half. oh yeah im using dvd x rescue if you need to know. or should i be using that?
