I've come to find that certain burners are just simply better than others. I have the NEC ND 2500A and I get I/O errors on a lot of disc and just can't copy the files no matter what. My brother have the Pioneer DVR-108 and he'll take the same disc that I've got I/O errors with all day and copy it with no problem at all. In fact he's yet to get an I/O error yet, and some of the disc I've seen him copy was in pretty brutal shape. So if anyone is having trouble it could just come down to your drive not being on the cutting edge of technology.
