Sony DVD media okay?

Hi. I'm using a Sony DRX-530UL with Sony DVD-R and DVD+Rs, but when I backup some DVDs I get problems such as the backup freezing at certain points when I play it back on PowerDVD. Sometimes my Sony DVD Drive can't see the burned disk!

I am using the latest version of DVDShrink and Nero 6.

I read that the reason for this could be bad media. Does Sony media qualify for this? I mean I've had a hit and miss success with Sony media so far.

Anybody else have similar issues?

Make sure you have latest firmware installed.

If you have some of the older SONY media, that was actually MANUFACTURED BY SONY, there's an excellent chance you'll have problems. SONY no longer manufactures the SONY-branded media...
