DVD+R and lite-on drive playback compatibility

I have a LITE-ON dvd+-r drive that works with all media including the double layer 9.2 gig stuff (haven't used any of that yet). I have no problem playing my backup discs or any bittorrent begotten stuff... I use a new Phillips 640 homeplayer (the one that can handle Divx, and most other formats. I also have a home player built-in to an ADVENT tv. BOTH of these work with any DVD stuff I burn. BUT it seems like anyone else that tries to play my stuff has issues with the disc not loading. One player is a new SANYO player. What can I do to get these backups as well as torrent sourced dvd's to work on a majority of home players?

I am using cheapo +R media that cost me $.28 and like I said, no probs with my two home players including the integrated ADVENT one thats a year old or so.

The only thing I tried so far is adding the AUDIO_TS folder to the disc if it had none to start with... didn't matter.

Please do not refer to pirated contents (including software/movies/music ...) - posting messages about movies you downloaded off Kazza or some other illegal means will not help you, and may get you into trouble with the authorities. When posting images, try to keep the image size under 50K, as large images slow down the page for everyone, especially those on slow connections.


When attaching images to signatures, keep the width under 250 and the height under 40. See this thread for more details.


When typing your messages, please do not type in capital letters. READING POSTS WRITTEN ENTIRELY IN CAPITAL LETTERS CAN BE ANNOYING, and seems to mean you are shouting!!


Please try to post messages in the right forum - posting in the wrong forum will only mean your posts will get deleted/ignored, unless an admin/mod can find your post and move it to the right forum.


Do not post the same message in multiple forums - it will only mean that the people who frequently visits these forums (ie. the very people that can help you) will be annoyed by your multiple posting and will ignore you, or worse, delete your posts if they were admin/mods.

Software producers that break this rule will have their software barred from being listed on Digital Digest sites.
