    burn a region 2 as a region 1?

I've got some DVDs that I want to burn as region 1 discs. I've got region 2 DVDs, no region DVDs, and DVD image files. None of them are already region 1. Basically, I want to copy DVDs, but I want the output DVD to be a different region than the input one.

Does anybody know of a DVD burning software that can burn a region 1 disc?

Both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink will allow you to set any region(s) you prefer.

Be aware, however, that there is a difference of FORMAT (as well as region number) between Region 1 (NTSC) and Region 2 (PAL). Although this doesn't present a problem for PC playback, most Region 1 standalone players cannot playback Region 2 discs.

If you want to make the effort to convert FORMATS, for information regarding converting NTSC files to PAL format, go to:

Thanks for the advice; I downloaded DVD Decrypter and it's a really handy program, great for burning discs. Now I have a stupid question though:

How do you get DVD Decrypter to burn a specific region?
