IOMagic External DVD 16x

Hi There,

I am new in dvd burning.

I got IOMagic External DVD 16x Drive, using dvdshrink 3.2 & Nero 6.0.x.x, the dvd burns at a speed of 2.4x (with 4x Media) & 4x with 8x Media (half the speed of original media speed). Any one suggest me please.

Also, if IOMagic is not a recommanded brand, please suggest the best drives available.

Can some help me in fixing the problem.
