DVDRW 1016IM - compatible dvd-r's

can any one suggest or does anyone know a brand of dvd-r that is compatible with this drive, does anyone else have one and its workin well cos this is my third drive and it still doesnt work, from cynthias help she reckons its media problem so any suggestions would be great,
