Create DVD with mpg2 and images

I am trying to create a DVD with a start menu, two mpeg2 movies and some still images (jpg).

At first I tried doing it in Pinnacle Studio 8, but it could not accept my mpeg files. Then I tried doing it in a trial version of ReelDVD but it could not accept my mpeg files either. Now I tried doing it in TMPGEnc DVD Author, but this application does not accept my images. Could anyone advise me what application to use or some other solution to my problem? Thanks.

Do your images need to go on the movie DVD?

Yes. I would like four options on the menu. Two movie clips and two slideshows with still images.

Whilst I know many commercial DVD's have stills in the extras I've not seen anyone puting a slideshow within a DVD structure - usually the domain of CD.
