Burn Stops at 49%

I recently purchased an I/O Magic 16x dual layer external dvd drive and when I try to burn backups of my movies it stops at 47 or 49%, I've tried Nemo and Spy kids 2). It gives no indication that it has stopped burning (except no light flashing on front). It also stops other actions on the computer until I shut the dvd drive off.

I'm using dvd decrypt and dvdshrink. I've tried to burn it with nero 6.0. Thanks for any suggestions. I'm almost at the point of returning the drive but I would rather not if that's not the problem.

Update nero and get DVDinfo and check your firmware and see if you need to update....I did it ad It works fine now. Hope that helps

Sounds like a faulty drive...
