DVD Media and 2 other questions

I have a question i have a Dell Inspiron 700M Notebook with a 8x CD/DVD burner +/- RW. My questions are, what is the best medi to use? DVD-R or DVD+R, or does it not make any difference? So far i have burned using LG DVD-R disks and it has worked on my Sony DVD Player and on my Sony PS2 dvd player....

Also, in general, do you guys know at what compression rate you generally begin to lose quality using DVD shrink?

Also is there any way to completely remove a section using DVD Shrink? As of now i have been replacing the section of video with the still image option they offer, but that still can take up to 150 MB of space...please help with these questions, thanks a lot...

Use whatever format (format = -R or +R) works best for you. -R format is more compatible with older stand alone DVD players. As -R came out before +R. There is a slight difference in the amount each one can hold but, it is so slight of a difference it wouldn't hurt or help by using either one. Whatever works with your stand alone is a good principle to go by.

Every DVD is going to be different. Example: %30 compression might provide a excellent result in video quality as where on a different DVD %30 would look horrible. I never go below %70, but thats just me.

Use "Re-author" mode instead of "Full Disk". Just drag the titles you want over to the compilation section of DVD Shrink.
