    burn speed issues

I have a Dell Inspiron 700M with a NEC ND 6500 burner. The burner is 8X and the DVD's i am using are 8X as well, but Nero keeps burning at 2X. the options i have for burn speed are either maximum speed or 1X. Maximum continues to burn at 2X though for some reason. Please help me, i have the trial version of Nero, could that be why? Please help me out, thanks!

Yep! After the trial version expires, it will burn at only 2X .

Upgrade Nero or burn with DVD Decrypter which is freeware.

Thanks, can anyone direct me to a link that details how to burn using DVD Decrypter in conjunction with DVD Shrink? I only know how to burn using Nero. Also, why is it "bad" to burn at any speed greater than 4X? Thanks so much!

The faster you burn, the more likely you are to get errors on the disc, making it unwatchable, etc.
