how do i keep them in 5.1 and DTS

i am backin up my dvd's to hard drive with dvd2one and dvd region free

i am selection the ac3 and dts sound options

but when i burn them back to dvdr with nero dvd video disc i seem to loose the 5.1 and dts

am i burning thewm wrong??

Hi jonny - welcome

Must be an encoding problem. You say there is no audio? Have you looked at the VOBs in VobEdit to see if they are there?

May be just the streams have been remapped incorrectly and the menu doesn't work anymore. Can you select them with he remote?

Open the dvd in PgcEdit and find the title and right click and see domain stream attributes. See if your audio streams are really there.

If, in DVD2One, you put checkmarks next to those two audiostream options, they are on your burned DVD.

Have you tried playing the burned DVD on a standalone DVD player? If so, have you tried select different audiostreams, by using either the DVD's onscreen menu or your remote control's "Language" or "Audio" button?

Have you tried playing the burned DVD on your PC, using dedicated DVD playback software (such as WinDVD or PowerDVD) to "Play as DVD" (NOT simply playing individual .VOB files)?
