Can I burn DVDs to Watch on My Old Player?

Hi, I'm new to all this and I'm wondering about something.
I have an old (2000) Sony DVP-330 DVD Player and I was wondering if it could play created DVDs.
I was thinking of using Dvdshrink and Nero to make my DVD but I'm wondering if I would have to take any special steps to get it to work on my older player.
    Thanks

The SONY DVD-330 WILL recognize high quality DVD-Rs (NOT, consistently, if at all, DVD+Rs), such as Ritek 4X, Ridata 4X, Verbatim 4X.

I strongly suggest that you burn them at 2X...

Ok thanks, Verbatim seem pretty easy to find so maybe I'll try those. Do you know roughly how long a 2X burn would take for a standard DVD?
