need help on .dvdr image file

I've got a .dvdr file, its an image. I was wondering how i should burn this file. I checked the forum and could not find it. I tried burning as an image using nero, but the burned failed. I'm just a regular burner and i don't know much about variations on files or proccesses. Any help would be appreciated.

In Nero did you select Recorder>Burn Image?

My preferred s/w for Image burning is DVD Decrypter.

Download it & give it a try, It's freeware.

How did you create this image file?

What is it an image of? If a video DVD, what's the title?

Do you know whether this image file is valid?

Have you tried PLAYING it on your PC - by "mounting" it either with Daemon Tools or ISOBuster?

Its a movie file, i'm not the one who made it. My first attempt was done through the recorder - burn image option. its alien vs predator. I'll try another program to try and burn it, thanks for the suggestions
