converting

i d/l alot of movies from newsgroups some burn fine in nero some do not , is there a way or a program that will convert every thing to dvd , from svcd , divx, avi , yenc , all i want is to be able to put them on dvd , i have a prog that converts to vcd it works great thanks for the input harry.
