New guy questions

I am trying to back up a few of my movies. I have read a few guides that describe dvd shrink and dvd decryptor. My problem is I do not know which one to use when. Or are they both the same? Also when I press "backup" in dvd shring it takes like 2hrs to do the encoding (thats what the window says) and transfer to my hd. Is that normal? Once my transfer is done it seems dvd shrink tries to burn for me. Should I use Nero or just let dvd shrink do it for me?

Also while I have not seen a backuped copy yet. It seems dvd shrink greatly reduces the size or quality. Is there a way to have a DVD copy burnt with lossless compression? Sorry for my n00b questions.

Shrink and Nero work well together-you don't need Decrypter in the mix unless you have some flick's that Shrink will not decode (forgotten etc)..

That being said some like using Decrypter and Nero without Shrink.

Two step process for most of us-you choose which works best with your system.

As for slow speeds-it may be your limited by an older processor (computer/HD etc...).
