noob at this please help

I try to make an extra copy of my dvd, but it don't copy it .........i got a philip dvd 8421 firmware verison 6h01. every time i try to burn it say "please insert a recordable disc" and also shrink latest verison.......and thank you for the time to read this........

i used nero 6. software to burn it.... first i use dvd shrink 3.2 to shrink it and save to my hard drive..........second i open nero 6 to burn it .......but every time i try to copy it ........please insert a recordable dvd....... im a noob here need some help........

This maybe a stupid question but, have you inserted a recordable/blank DVD?

yes.. i bought TDk DVD - R........from walgreens....

And your burner don't support -R/-RW media - only +R/+RW media.
