Is Mpeg4 as good a compression as Mpeg2?

As the above question states... Will Mpeg4 compess as much as Mpeg2 does? Thanks in advance.

With mpeg4 you can use lower bitrate than mpeg2.
Lower bitrate = smaller file size.
