Backing Up

Help someone.
I am using dvd shrink to try and back up a dvd I have and I am getting the message -

Failed to read File "D:\"
Data error (cyclicredundancycheck)

Getting this error message straight away.
How do I fix it ?? What's wrong ?

Thanks sfheath - got the toothpaste out and all working fine now.
Will keep my littleuns grubby fingers off my dvd's in future !!!!!
