background audio ok but other audio isn't(please help)

i'm having trouble burning an original dvd to a blank dvd disc.i'm using shrink and nero.the dvd burns ok but there is no audio from the actors only background audio.i've looked for problems in the stand alone dvd player i've been playing the discs in,like in the settings menu, but changing things in there doesn't seem to make a difference.the originals play fine just not the burnt ones.
could someone please advise what i night be doing wrong
    thanks for any help

Have you tried using the remote control or the onscreen menu to select a different audiostream?

yep i've tried changing the audio settings.the problem is the original dvds play fine with no audio problems at all and when i've previewed the movie from the hard drive after copying from the disc everything is ok,its just when i put it in my stand anlone dvd player there are problems.i shouldn't need to change the audio stream if it plays the originals alright then i guess it should play the burnt ones alright.
is there anything else that it could be.
      thanks for your help

I had a similar problem with Little Black Book. I reauthored it and took every frame but the last one out of the dummy sector and that fixed the problem.

sorry guys you were right setarip i re-checked my audio settings on my standalone dvd player and they were wrong.i had them set to surround sound instead of just having the sound coming out of 2 speakers only which fixed the problem.still haven't figured out why some were affected but others weren't anyway i'm just happy the problems now fixed.
              thanks for helping
