Probs with dvd decrypter on my dvd-r discs

I am having problems backing up my ps2 games using dvd decrypter. I have instructions on what to do, but when I put it in my modded PS2 the game will not work after my ps2 logo comes up. CD-R PSX games work but not my DVD-R backup of PS2 games. Does anyone else have this problem? Could someone please help. Thanx
