DVD burned ok but wont play on DVD drive

Hey Guys,
I'm new here and am having a strange problem. Copied and burnt a DVD using DVD Shrink. The strange part is that my DVD drive doesnt recognize the DVD but it plays just fine on my standalone DVD player. DVD drive plays other DVDs fine. The original DVD (the one I copied had region protection) but it plays ok on the DVD drive. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to the forums. Have you used the "Same" or "Different" type/brand of media?

I have a Sony DVD RW DRU710-A drive but used a different brand media. I have burned DVDS using the different media before with no problems at all. This is the first time this has happened.

Just updated the drive firmware and it plays fine! Bloody strange! Anyways thanks for the reply ormonde.

To check the capability/compatibility and or the limitations of your standalone player with regards to the type of media you are using visit:
