i can only burn at 8x?? help

hey everyone ive been using sony 1-8x dvd+rs and now i can only burn at 8x..i use dvd shrink and then nero...ive tried to change the speeds and it never works..could someone please explain to me how to do this? i always used to burn at 4x now all of a sudden 8x. please help

Are you burning with Nero through Shrink? Or Are you burning manually with Nero?

i burn through shrink it automatically goes to nero

Then it will automatically burn at the highest speed. You cannot change the write speed when burning with Nero through DVD Shrink.
