can't view old vids on new computer

I purchased a new computer with XP. I transferred vids from old computer - windows 98 - and when I try to play them, I get a message on RealPlayer saying no Div3 decompressor. Can anyone help?

You have to download and install the DivX v.3.11alpha codec...

Thanks for the promp reply. Even though I'm computer illiterate, I did download the divx codec 3.11 alpha and it's now an icon on my desktop. I still can't play the vids I had transferred from my old computer. Do I need to do something to activate it or merge with my files?

Unzip the files within the zip file to a folder, and then run the Register_DivX.exe file. Follow the dialog that comes up.
