Ok I've been doing a fair bit of research to find some answers but have so far come up empty so I thought I might pose the question (at the risk that my searches have overlooked an answer that has been answered numerous times already)
I capture and edit video from DV camera with Premiere 6. I compress the video with VirtualDub using Avisynth and Divx5.02.
I then use lame on the wav audio track (exported from avi) to encode into mp3.
When I join up the files doing direct stream copy in Nandub, it seems to trash the audio. In other words, the mp3 quality sounds like its been encoded at a MUCH lower bitrate than it actually has been.
When I play the seperate mp3 file it sounds a LOT different to the audio when combined into the avi file.
The sync is pretty good but sometimes, especially on longer videos, it tends to get out of sync when I jump to the middle or end of the file.
Any tips, advice or point me to relevant threads appreciated
