subtitles with Vobsub - question 2

'Then press OK. After a while when it's done indexing press OK to get back to the filter selection. VobSub will have created 3 new files in the directory you indicated before (to save the index file). These files are named like your ifo file, for instance in our case vts_01_0.ifo, vts_01_0.idx and vts_01_0.sub. '

I followed the vobsub guide EXACTLY and i do not end up with 3 files. In the directory I am only left with 2 files

    vts_03_0 5kb
    vts_03_0 264kb

    what am i doign wrong?

Yes, the latest version of vobsub only creates 2 files, this is perfectly OK, it just the guide that has not been updated. Although you .sub file seems awfully small, for a 90 minute movie it should be at least 2 MB. I have seen problems like this with some of the newest versions of vobsub, try using version 2.14.
