I recently ripped a dvd and i disvcovered that the sound was embeeded into the .vob file itself. When ripped the .vob plays the soundtrack at least twice as fast as the original soundtrack. Can anyone help me get around this copy protection?

As far as I know, the sound is indeed embedded in the ripped VOB files. You will need to extract that sound out into either the AC3 or uncompressed stereo .wav format. Here's a quick run-through:
1. Rip the DVD files using Smrtripper or DVDDecryptor
2. Extract the sound into .wav (Using Graphedit or Vob2audio) or AC3 (I don't usually do this, but I believe you can use DVD2AVI for the job).
