Problem with audio compression in Virt. Dub

Hey Guys. Ok my friend followed a guide and ripped a movie using flask, then ripped the audio using flask 6, then fixed it in sound forge, and now is trying to put it all together in virtual dub
however, when he tries to save the final movie a screen pops up saying "Error Initializing audio stream compression: the requested conversion is not possible"

Your friend must have converted the audio to a format that VirtualDub can't handle, such as .AC3...

why don't u extract the audio using VOB2Audio then downsample it to 44100Hz using something like wavelab?
