    converting a vbr audio stream

    Hi i am trying to convert the showtime dvix to a svcd so i can watch it on my dvd player but when i try to convert it i have sync problems between the audio and the video virtual dub says that this is because the audio has been converted with a variable bitrate and ill need to convert it back to a constant bitrate in order to get it back in sync but im not shure what application to use in order to do this can anyone out the help me please?

    It's actually simpler (and more accurate) to extract, convert and save the audiostream in (uncompressed PCM) .WAV format, as follows:

    Simply use VirtualDub to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
    Load your original .AVI into VirtualDub
    From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"

    You can then use the .WAV audio file in conjunction with your original .DivX-compressed .AVI to create either a VCD or SVCD.
