Hardware acceleration problem

a few weeks back i tried converting an mpeg to a divx file for the first time, using VirtuaDub. I followed the instructions on this site:

Ever since i cant play any divx files anymore with hardware acceleration set to full. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

1) There is no period (".") after ".htm"

2) there is nothing in those instructions that would/could/should in any way affect your ability to use hardware acceleration

3) Are you certain you are referring to "hardware acceleration" and not something else (such as the "CPU usage" slider in the DivX control panel)?
