I hope these two question haven't been asked too many times:
- cropping vs resize : sometimes i get an optimal bit per pixel with a horizontal resolution of 702 (or a little less )pixel which is just a little less than DVD original resolution (720). Which is the best solution ? cropping 9 pixel at each side or resizing the frame from 720 to 702 pixels. Which gives a shaper image ???
- color depth : i always use a color depth of 24 bit, but recently i've seen a divx with 16 bit color depth and the image quality was very good. With the same bitrate, reducing color depth from 24 to 16 bit can increase image sharpness (i think that there might be more bits for the luminance encoding) ?
thanks
