i am new to this formatting -- help

i am trying to change the format of a movie i downloaded off the net. It is in divx.avi format and i want to change it into VCD format BUT still keep it on my harddrive. Does anyone know a program i can use to do this. I tried taking a movie about 650,0000 kb and using the NERO 5.9 and converting and burning it onyo CD but it says the file was too big, but it fits onto CD in .avi format. HELP thanks john

i don't make vcd much unless i get mpeg files from net. but i believe vcd format basically works in minutes (80min per cd), therefore a 90 min divx movie will need to be on 2 cd's. i guess you could cut the divx in two with virtual dub then try it.
