Cannot encode my .MP2 audio to .MP3 or .WAV

I run Windows 2000 and use the All in Wonder Radeon for my video capture. I can get the video encoded with MPEG2AVI but my audio is stubborn. I have tried Winamp, BeSweet, and Lame they always error with the input format (.MP2). I have consulted Doom9's guides, and FAQ's but they all seem to be set up for AC3 or VOB. I just want to convert my personal captures to MPEG 4, not ripped DVD movies!

Both VirtualDub and TMPGEnc will allow you to convert the audio to Uncompresssed PCM (.WAV) format...
