Please help Blank screen when converting
Hi all
Please can you help. I have a few movies which I wish to convert from AVI to MPG. I have done this a number of times and all has been well but I have two movies which I cannot convert all I get as an MPG file is the sound and no pictures.
I don't understand the recompression on virtual dub very well and was wondering do I have to recompress the films to a difrent format before using TMPGenc. I have taken a screen shot to give deatils of the file. Please could you advise how to get it converted to MPG.

Ihad same problem.Virtual dub is great for getting the file size to the right length depending on if you want vcd (mpeg1) or svcd (mpeg2).Once thats done your new trim files are put as the avi source in tmpgenc.But after encoding the sounds o.k but black screen.I tried all sorts then but no luck. Stumbled on answer. I had come across a file on Kazaa called Acemcp.exe. This has loads of codecs for players / editors/ burners so I downloaded and opened all the codecs in the same file as TMPGEnc. Now works fine. After encoding has started play the preview and you will see the video stream.Don't ask which codec has done the trick, not sure but suspect a divx one.
