Those with probs with Gknot and Divx5.

I had soem problems, the picture looked ugly, the file wasn't the right size.

    THen I realized something.

The pro version of DIVX 5 (Which Ihad installed) had the GAIN software installed and I had accidentally deleted it when I was using AdAware.

It deletes the spying keys but it also deletes one key that it needs to work!

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{21ffb6c0-0da1-11d5-a9d5-00500413153c}\

If you delete that, the codec will not work, and Gknot and Divx 5 will appear to work for no reason.

I finally got Gknot to work fine for me, I want to thank KHP for helping me out

Yup, using adAware is just too easy. There is a tread at doom9's which explains how to safely disable the adware that comes with divx5 pro.

I'am not exactly sure what happens in this case. But due to the way GKnot configures the divx5 codec, terrible things can happen if divx5 is'nt properly installed. Like if you only got divx4 installed when using GKnot0.26, it may appear to encode properly, but GKnot won't have any control over the codec settings, which mean that you get completly unpredictable results. This often happen if you install GKnot0.21 which by default installs divx4, which overrides any previous divx5 install.
