    FFdshow query

i installed the 'ffdshow filter' and noticed overall quality looked worse. However it did play part of a rip that had bad frames than the orginal codec.

is it worth just removing it? does it have other advantages? wot do you ppl think?

FFDSHOW is an allpurpose playback filter for xvid/divx. Supposedly, it utilizes less system resources. How was the quality "worse"? You may want to check the settings (and post processing) of the FFDSHOW codec.

i will play around with these settings, and see what i get.
Also when i encoded using xvid, a line appears on the top of the film throughout. However when using the ffdshow decoder it's not there.

      thanx
