File size ....

This probably has been covered before, but I 'd appreciate any help. I'm using Xmpeg and Flask and I cannot get the filesize correct. I'm using Divx 5.02 with the two pass option and I still get a file size smaller than what I want (i.e 1GB for a two disk video).

It is really annoying trying to guess the bitrate that would produce a nice file size.

I was wondering if there is a reliable calculator that might give me a more accurate bitrate?

There is a perfectly good explanation for what you are experienceing, and yes it has been covered before, several times, I might add.

The problem got nothing to do with the bitrate calculator, and no bitrate calculator will ever be able to fix it.

The problem usually is that you have reached maximum quality, with you current settings, which mean that divx5 can't improve the quality by increaseing the filesize. When this is the case increasing the bitrate will have next to no effect.

So unless you also got some obvious quality problems, this is perfectly normal.
