Hi there,
I am looking for a source where I can learn something about the technical background of DivX. I found much about mpeg-encoding. But how does the DivX-compression work and how the files are getting changed by the codec and the software? What does the codec?. Who can help me or can tell me some good sites about this special know-how? Of course, your site is great, really, but I am looking for technical aspects.

Well it's unlikely that you will find exact technical information on divx, since it's closed source and a commercial codec.

A similar (but still different) code is XVID, it is open source you chould study the binaries at www.xvid.org and/or do a search ong google.com
