Vob Converting

Ok ive ripped my dvds to disk with smartripper.

Now i want to convert the vobs to anothr format so i can actually view the movie on my computer...i dont care much about the movie size but i do want it to have exactly the same quality as it is while in dvd format.

If someone could recommend a utility for this wich is not to hard for a new to use, and perhaps include a small step by step guide i would be very grateful.

This site, as well as www.doom9.org have guides on how to do this. Gordian Knot is a common, user friendly utility that is pretty auto configuring, for the most part.

As far as having a perfect quality rip... good luck with that... You could make a super high bitrate movie that will be like 10 cds big, I suppose... lol

You can make up to a 2 hour movie look pretty nice and fit on one cd, and 2 cds will be ample for any <3 hour movie.

If you have anymore specific questions regarding which codecs to use, etc that aren't in the guides, myself or someone else can help you further.
