    thinkings, please

Movie begins with text which is static and incorporated.
I cut this segment out (VirtualDub) and used AVISubtitler to
    merge translated text over.

(OK, I tried to used Fancy Movie Editor, but... I haven't
some kind of filter which be able to eliminate white fonts,
    etc. etc.)

    So, I decide to put:
the first - black mask over the 'movie' fonts, and got black
bars (mask) which becomes backgrounds on 2nd step, when I put translated white text over. (I couldn't find some good characters with background - which must be good enough but proportional because quadrat of background, you know... this is why 2 steps.)

And now the Question: after all - when I want to merge this
segment back to the movie (virtualdub 1.5., normal and P4 optimized) guess:

*Cannot append segment. The video streams have different data formats.*

    Which is notorious lie.

    So, what to do now?

Thread the whole movie through codec (I don't decide yet which one, Xvid or 5.03)
(hour and half of work) or mabe someone has some life-saving idea?

    Thanks.

For EACH of the two segments, do the following:

    10 Load file into VirtualDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

and here it is modified (modification.jpg)

But, uno momento prego, if I do some merge (subtitle) into the segment - hm, it's pretty logical that *something* happend with that segment.

It will be very, very nice to have direct stream copy (instead of full proccesing mode when merging, well, picture into the movie) ))

        Regards.
