Why does DVD2AVI Split my Files

I am using DVD2AVI to do the secon pass of an XVID encode job. It is supposed to end up a 2.5 GB file. DVD2AVI splits the file after it reaches 1.94 GB. I am using NTFS so there should be no problem. I need it to all be 1 file. What can I do?

Although I don't use DVD2AVI, I can surmise that it uses the "standard" .AVI format (NOT Open DML) and is, therefore limited to 2Gigs filesize...

      What should I do?

I need to convert some very large files. The only way to do this is encode them to .avi or to edit them as an .mp2. I don't know of any way to edit an .mp2. You mentioned an Open DML .avi format. How does one go about getting .avi files that are larger than 2 GB?

Use virtualdub to create the avi file. DVD2AVI should only be used for frameserving.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
