Big AVI after using Bitrate Calculator in Nandub

I calculated the bitrate I should use in order to get a 620 MB avi file with Nandub, with its own bitrate calculator.

The result was approximately 730. I used that bitrate and still the resulted AVI is 1.5 GB.

    Anybody know why?
Then how can I establish the right settings to obtain a film that would fit on one CD?

Have you ensured that your audio track is not in an uncompressed state (i.e. WAV)?

I am talking only about the video part. I processed them separately.
I did the audio after and that caused only a 75 MB increase
